My Mama Said I Was Wrong

Ladies and gentlemen, it appears I made a mistake on one of my post. According to my parents this picture was not taken on Christmas day in 1979. It was taken in 1977. That means I was three years old instead of five. Apparently my parents know more about what happened when I was three than I can remember so I won't debate them on this.

My mama also demanded that I let everyone know she did not burn my drum set while my daddy took me for a ride. Their story is that I broke them myself and that's why they were thrown away. Because this information came from my parents and I love them dearly I will endorse this as the truth. The only thing that confuses me is that I have seen my dad drive us home while keeping his truck running with a hanger, soft drink can, and some vice grips. I am sure he could have fixed my drums with some duck tape and a Winn Dixie bag if my mama hadn't thrown them out while he was at work. I just want to tell my dad that I understand.

If this is the last post you read for a few weeks it means I am on punishment by my mama for being smart and can't log in.

That was my first belly laugh of the day!

I think you're right... Your momma threw your drum set out. LOL!

I better do some damage control...

If I really wanted another set of drums they would have bought them for me.

You are in BIG trouble. Mrs. Harris is an aries woman too. It was nice talking to you because you will be grounded for life. LOL!! Good Luck! A

Whomever "RED" is this is MAMA talking. I would like the world to know that I had no choice but to throw the drums out. He destroyed them one by one. As they broke, he lost interest in them. They were in pieces when I threw them out. I am not a monster that would throw out their child's toys intentionally. My son has his story mixed up. He wants to blame his mama for his wrongdoing. He is grounded for duration of his life. Perhaps his sentence can be lifted when he has to go to the nursing home. By the way, Cliff, be on the look out for a package with a set of drums for Gabby and a set for Chloe. I am sending you some entertainment while you are grounded. You see how nice I am. I love you.

LOL! That's right Mrs. Harris, I told you she would get you Cliff. I knew you would get in trouble smarty (ha,ha). Never mess with mama, they are always right. I'll talk to you @ the nursing home in 2050. I'll get one of my godkids to push me in my wheelchair to visit you. A

P.S. Red you are about to in trouble too lol!

That's right RED, you are in big trouble just for agreeing with Cliff. It is not nice to mess with mama. I will call your mama and have her ground you to for something. The MAMA's Club of America stick together and we do get results.

OMG Ms. Harris! Cliff just warned me that my comment ruffled your feathers. Allow me assure you that I have nothing but the ultimate respect for you, having raised a conscious son who represents so well for the people of New Orleans, as well as showing proper reverence to his mother and the rest of his family. And if you say those drums needed throwing out, I have complete faith that your call was the right one. I defer to your wisdom and greatness.

PS - my mother AND grandmother are online and I already know they would side with you - they are the West Coast Queens Of Clutter Elimination. So please accept my apology - we don't need to get them involved in this:)

The last thing I'd like to say about this post is thanks to MAMA for capturing such a moment in time. You can't get much flyer as a 3 year old when your hat matches your drumset, and sits so nicely atop an 8 inch "fro." I'm glad you didn't mash the hat down. As I mentioned before...Priceless. (smile)
